Links, rechts, wit, zwart, arm, rijk, dik, dun…

Of waar jouw ouders, grootouders, overgrootouders vandaan komen.

“Be a Citizen of the World; take those blinkers off”

ROOTS: Serbia

I grew up in the former Yugoslavia, with all my grandparents.
The two different households did differ from each other.
One couple were pretty progressive. They were almost hippies.
The other two were more traditional. More modest and sedate.
I had a great time with both grandparents though, despite the differences.

I look upon the diversity in the world in the same way:
Right, left, white, black, poor, rich, fat, thin…
We’re all just a part of this same planet Earth.
I hope to give my kids the same insights.
This is a whole world society.

It’s important to know where you come from though.
Even if just your parents, grandparents and great grandparents.
Don’t mould yourself to just one country, embrace the whole world.
Be a Citizen of the World.
Take those blinkers off.
